Who Are We
Vedan Trust is a registered NGO, headquartered in Bengaluru. It was formed in July 2016, by a team of 7 passionate volunteers who came with an intention of making a difference with the ability of solving problems. We are the facilitators who serve in the fields of Health, Education, Environment, and any concern which needs problem solving and betterment of the society. We fuel change by identifying problems, targeting their root cause, rightly involving the vested stakeholders and designing comprehensive solutions. Our expertise lies in closing the loopholes of the incorrect system and establishing a robust system in place.
A group of 7 passionate friends went to Amruthahalli slums in Summer to teach kids. Every day, as they walked through the streets, they couldn’t help but notice the mounting piles of waste that plagued the slums. The stench filled the air, and the sight was disheartening. The waste pickers ignored to collect these wastes due to poor-quality mixed waste. The friends couldn’t ignore the waste problem any longer and wanted to become waste warriors. They decided to form a small organization through which Vedan Trust was born. With determination in their hearts, they began researching waste management practices and solutions. Armed with knowledge, they were ready to make a difference. Through their dedication and passion, the team proved that change starts with a small group of people who are willing to take action. Their journey continued as they explored other challenges in the society customizing solutions according to ground realities.
