“Turning Leaf Waste to Black Gold” – LEAF COMPOSTING
Leaf Composting is a natural process of recycling organic matter such as leaves and other garden waste.
Leaves and garden waste such as grass clippings, twigs, flowers etc are seen as a resource which are
collected in a simple cost effective PVC coated or metal composting mesh instead of burning them.
Adding water to maintain the moisture on a frequent basis and accelerator (microbes, sour curd etc)
helps fasten the process. The decomposed leaves can be used as Leaf Mulch or Leaf Compost. Flies
and pests are minimal and it does not produce any bad odour. We have promoted the leaf composting
process across different parts of the city. Satya Sai Foundation has taken up this green initiative and has
been spreading across all their Samithis. Ward 132 and Attiguppe Ward Office have implemented the
leaf composting units educating pourakarmikas and other workers.
Compost Leaves, they are amazing for your garden!
