There are 41 institutions (both Government and Private) in Moodbidire Town Municipal limits. Inspired by the transformation of Cambridge Institute of Technology and TMC Office, educational institutions expressed great interest in Zero Waste. Zero Waste Campus Booklet and Logo was launched during a 1-day Mega workshop by the President of TMC in December 2021. 8 institutions turned into Zero Waste Campuses in TMC Moodbidire.

TMC Moodbidire invited CEO of Cambridge College who addressed and inspired the institutional heads (private, aided & Government) of Moodbidire. This created a ripple effect, wherein TMC, Moodbidire adopted it at a policy level. Ward President and Counsellors supported in influencing schools and colleges to transform into Zero Waste Campuses. Workshops and capacity building programs were conducted along with Leaf Composter installation demo and practical sessions on home composting. One of the teachers from a College was nominated as Zero Waste Ambassador for Swachh Sarvekshan, TMC Moodbidire, who now successfully conducts Zero Waste events such as Kambala , Ganeshotsava etc saving about 2 lakh single-use items in 2022 and also started a cutlery bank saving 1 lakh single-use items in 1 yr. The inspired teacher also carries out environment campaigns such as “Bring Market Bags”, Cleanliness drives etc.
