Students come to school from Kalparaksha Educational and Charitable Trust and the Slums of Goripalya. Our program offers financial assistance to cover the school bus fees, alleviating financial strain on these students and ensuring their continued access to education. We studied the gap of transportation need and financial constraints of children travelling to Vivekananda School and supported monthly fuel charges for the school bus. The financial assistance not only eases the burden on these students but also plays a vital role in nurturing and developing their talents. By investing in their education, our program is contributing to the overall development of these students and in turn fostering a brighter future for the nation.
Kalparaksha Educational and Charitable Trust
Kalparaksha Educational and Charitable Trust, was founded in 2014 by Kumar Naik S in Mahalakshmi Layout and Nagarabhavi 2nd Stage, Bengaluru. With two branches, the trust caters to a diverse student population of 52, including 27 girls and 25 boys. Remarkably, 49 students come from single-parent households, while the trust also supports one orphan and two semi- orphan students.
Dedicated to providing quality education, the trust serves students from 5th to 12th grade. Its impact extends beyond academics, focusing on the holistic development of the child. Recognizing its valuable contribution, the government has renewed the trust’s permission to operate until 2029, acknowledging its commitment in uplifting the community through education and charitable initiatives. Kalparaksha Educational & Charitable Trust stands as a testament to Kumar Naik S’s vision, creating a nurturing environment where every child, regardless of their background, can dream of a brighter future.
Slums of Goripalya
A strong community struggles with the harsh reality of financial deprivation in maze-like slums of Goripalya, where pursuing an education is a dream to many. Families rely on jobs such as BBMP labour, labour, mechanics, and footpath enterprises and their monthly earnings typically range from 15,000 to 20,000 rupees.
Every penny matters to these families, and they frequently feel that their goal of giving good education to their kids is unattainable. The challenge of providing basic needs hinders the educational investment of their children. Hence, collaborative remedies empower these families creating a more equal society. The transportation assistance acts as a lifeline, allowing the impoverished children to attend school on a regular basis.
